These two laptops arrived within a few days of each other in February 2004. Both machines have 512 MB ram, a 60 GB drive, a DVD/CD-R drive, and 802.11b/g cards.
On the left, an Apple 1.25 GHz Powerbook G4. Price before tax: $1939.00.
On the right, a Dell Inspiron 5150. Price before tax: $1850.00.
In a processor bake-off, the Dell's 3.06 GHz Pentium IV would surely toast the Powerbook's 1.25 GHz G4. Assuming we hadn't sent it back.
