Point of maximum disassembly.

It's not that bad because I only replaced the cooling system. The real part of the engine is still closed; I only had the cooling system opened up. Those antifreeze corrosion inhibitors really work! The cast iron engine block underneath the water pump looked like it was fresh from the machine shop.

I really should have replaced the timing belt while I had it exposed, but I was worthless and weak. But I did replace almost all of the cooling system components, including the radiator.

It was hard to get the water pump on. The Haynes manual doesn't mention what a pain the bypass line is to get back in place. (They only tell you how to do the obvious things.) I used a rubber mallet. Everything else, including the radiator, was easy.
